And Sewn Into The Seams Were 41 Seasons of Dreams

It's been quite a year so far. Towards the end of the year, I joined forces with Mr. Robby McGhee and Mr. Alex Scheurell to form the theatre group and production company All-In Productions. Our inaugural show is currently going on is The Last 5 Years. We were lucky enough to get the rights to this show before the movie is slated to come out in 2015.

All-In Productions is a new theatre company that wants to inspire theatre. We do shows that will make people want to do shows, learn about theatre, or just to try something new in general.

Our first season covers the idea of Dreams vs. Reality. Under the direction of Robby McGhee, we discovered that Jamie and Cathy represent two very different paths that will hopefully end up at the same goal. If you know anything about this musical, you know that this is not the reality of the relationship. This show is full of heartache, happiness, missed clues, connections, and most of all, hope.

We want to continue that idea throughout the rest of our season. While I cannot publicly announce the remainder of our season completely (rights, rivalries, etc), our plan is to explore different stories that tip-toe along the line of dreams not quite matching up with the reality. We want to explore them through text, music, comedy, and drama. I can say, however, that we are excited to explore this idea through the classically campy musical Little Shop or Horrors.

As of this writing, there are still more chances to see this musical, which is running at Next Act Theatre in Milwaukee, WI. You can check out the lovelies Amanda Carson and Michael David Stoddard on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30. You can also see our fresh and exciting understudies perform this show on Saturday at 2:00pm.

I know. We are not supposed to read reviews of shows. If we do read them, for better or for worse, we aren’t supposed to take any of what the reviewers say into consideration. However, our reviews have been ASTOUNDING so far, which is really exciting to hear as a brand new theatre company. Putting on a show that many actors would kill to play, and still getting positive reviews from colleagues, mentors, and media is a dream come true.

What a great reality this is.
